Farewell ..
I once went into a lapse of depression which had me wondering if we are all supposed to die how do we find motivation to work for something that is confined to only of worldly importance? Those who go around oblivious to the stark realities of life tend of enjoy it the most; whereas the ones who dare to think about the bigger picture bare the brunt of the truth.
Our life is not in our hands. We do not know, when we might part from this form of existence or what is waiting for us in the after-life. Those who leave us never look back. We never hear from them again.
The first time I ever saw a lifeless body was that of my playmates father who died of a sudden heart-attack while sitting on a rocking chair and reading newspaper. On the mourning day, I saw people sitting around the body crying while the man looked very much as though in a peaceful sleep and it didn't disturb me. I was a teenager ( not so small ) but never questioned life and its fragile existence.
The gravity of the situation hit me with the crash of AirBlue Flight 202 last year. So many people I knew, so many, were on that plane. That was the day I will never forget. From the moment of learning about the crash to discovering about a friend, a colleague, a distant relative, stretch to the length of discovering the sweet next-door Aunty ( mother of 3 small boys ) all dead. Visions of the last conversations I had with each of them would not go away. I felt as though being followed, scared of my own shadow. Thinking how am I still alive? How does Allah mia choose? Getting paranoid that I could also die any minute and not know it, just like they did not know it. That was the turning point in my life, since then I am aware of the temporary existence we are granted by Allah mia.
This year I have lost 3 grandparents one each month starting February.Yesterday, I lost my grandfather. He was an amazing man, to say the least. I can still hear the sound of his laughter, how he, while sitting with both legs crossed-legged up on a sofa in front of the telly, would take off this hat as a relfex rub his head with the other palm and wear the hat again while listening to the news. How he would say, "aur beta joove kaise ho app?" always with a smile, always. He was the only guy I knew who could solve the entire crossed word in one sitting and that too without cheating.
Dada Jaan ( my grandfather ) lost the love of his life 2 months before he parted with us too. My grandparents were married while they were in their teens and died in their eighties. How could have one survived without the other? Thats what he said during the duration he was alive.
Dada Jaan, the last time I talked to you I promised to teach you how to use facebook so that you could look at the pictures of your grandkids and great grandkids ( who live far away ) growing up. I promised to join you in your evening walks. I am sorry I didn't get a chance to give you more time. May Allah mai bless you with the best place in heaven. Ameen.
I will never meet him again. I will never hear his loud pitch laughter or see his humor filled eyes. The walking stick. The special sofa in front of the telly. Look for him standing in the gallery taking care of his cherished plants whenever we passed from the main road. The only thing I have left of him are the countless memories. I already miss you a lot. I miss being your granddaughter, a kid.
Please recite "Surah e Fateha" once for him.
Life is too short. Do what you feel like doing. We are all born the same way and die the same death, so no one is superior and only age makes us so. We are lucky to be blessed with life. Live it well, for yourself and for others.

More than a Park Slide.
Next thing I know, I find myself standing back on the top, vowing to get a grip this time. I will not fall.
Amazing things we are taught in our childhood. And you know whats more amazing, we do each round with a smile.

"Run for your Wife" A stage play.
I must say it was a commendable show. Although, I believe the stage props were a bit on a narrow budget, but the acting surpassed Shah Sharabeels show Bombay Dream by a huge mile.
"Run from your wife" used a basic storyline of a guy, earning a living as a taxi driver, having two wives where both of them have no clue about the other ones existence. The story gradually weaves his friend into trying to save his ass when it spirals down into a complete mess of things, ending with a surprising twist. While the show had a few quirky dual meaning dialogues delivered with excellent comedic timings giving hilarious moments, all in all had a great time.
Good job done. Hope to see more of you guys! *thumbs*
Lastly, one thing which was very negative about their event was their management. End of the show, they held a ballet every night where they pick out random winners for the giveaways through sweepstakes. My husband happened to be on of the lucky winners, sadly they had no mechanism sorted out to do anything more than just announcing the name of the winners in the auditorium. Since it was a dress hence I (with a vested interest : ) ) even followed up with them, turned out it was just a promotional gimmick.
I liked the show and was ecstatic to have won something without expecting it. But, sadly, when I look back I see an over-promise underdeliver ruining my pleasant evening.

Breaking the Habit or creating one?
Anyway, the point is. Something weird is up with me. This new year, instead of resolutions ( force coming from within ) some alien habits ( forces from outside ) are taking shape in my routines. I am loosing my appetite ( well to an extent ) and less sleep.
Is that a good thing or bad. Well, there is a lot I can accomplish if i don't sleep as much. I remember feeling sleep deprived most of the last year. Maybe I don't feel sleepy this year cos i overslept last year? go figure!.
I like night times. Its 1:21 a.m. in the night. Its peaceful. I have work in the morning...HOLD that thought! argh. Should i lie down and try to make myself go to sleep? I could watch a boring movie to bring me some droopy eyes.
I will play some games! Oops! I had to catch up on some replies!
Later! Cheers!

Come back.
Technically, this has not been the only pad to itch down my thoughts. I promised on my journal THAT would be my last blog, but somehow Blogger pulled me back. This is my root.
I will not promise to be regular, but I will try to make it worth reading.
Until next time.

Peter Answers ( a.k.a Peter Plays )
For days, there had been a havoc going around in our office about a site called "peteranswers" that seems to answer everything accurate. Only to selected individuals though, supposedly through a psychic connection it accomplishes with the one writing the questions. Later that day, I found out the trick ( or the actual truth behind it being fake. ) Since a couple of jokers around at the office still wanted to take pleasure out of the joke, they requested me not to reveal the mystery behind it, so I kept to myself for their sake of seemingly harmless fun. Meanwhile, I found it as a nice opportunity to help a couple of people gain courage through the comfort of it coming through a source which they had come to relie on as being credible, where in reality they were my suggestions as if they were coming from Peter. After I had accomplished my motive, I proclaimed to have lost the "psychic" connection so that no one else would come to me as I didnt feel comfortable making a fool out of someone (pardon my earlier confession, for it was done for someones betterment totally) just to drive pleasure. Next day at the office the whole office was under currently buzzing with the "words of peter", as I was just about to get up to leave for some work, my extension rang. I picked up to hear a familiar voice of a lady whom I only exchange morning greetings as I enter office every morning, she works at the front desk so she doesnt have access to PC or can use the computers. She wanted to ask me of a favour since she heard I was one of the people whom Peter talked to. Since I was in a hurry I didnt realize what was going to hit me next and so I off-handedly said, "sure", thinking I will let her know in person when I whiz by her on the way in a couple of minutes. The questions she asked me made a thump on my heart and made me only reply with a hasty "i'll try" and put the phone down. She was so hopeful that her concerns will be answered in just a while that I couldnt get the courage to tell her that it was fake. It was heartening to see the expresion althought she was smiling still when I told her about the site unability to in actual answer the questions.
What started out as a joke decided to made me learn an imperative lesson and also made me realize an important revelation. All of us are constantly searching for answers, each of us have a story to tell, we all really are infact a novel no best seller could ever match up to. Life is all about undying hope at the face of great uncertainty ( revelation that came to me through certain questions people were asking 'Peter'). We should be strong enough to know the answers to our own questions, if not then we should use the power within us to make answers to those questions as we would want them to be and not relie on some Peter, Tom, Dick or Harry whatever he may be.

Limit of Sleep. |
At 1:18 a.m., I received a frantic call from my mom. Apparently the ground was shaking. It was a 7.4 magnitude Earthquake. Everyone at the coast side had come out of their homes in fear of the worst. After listening to mum, I went back to my peaceful sleep. Guess, there is a dire need for me to keep a cold bucket of water nearby for moments like these.

New year is usually about making resolutions, although we seldom follow them. But that does not mean we don't like holding on to it till the new year starts and then we let go of the idea!

Peter Answers ( a.k.a Peter Plays ) |
It is a profound yet depressing experience to see how much we yearn for someone to tell us the answers for us. Looking powerless at the hands of our own fate, even though it may be in our hands. Given the fact that yes although invisible, but yet still within grasp.
For days, there had been a havoc going around in our office about a site called "peteranswers" that seems to answer everything accurate.
